Section 41 – Wing Attachment – 4 hours

Now that I am safely in the hangar, I officially started the final assembly. The first task was to organize the hangar but I also managed to attach the tail feathers the day after the move. It is looking more like an airplane and less like a guppy.

The following weekend, I followed the plans and invited some helpers over with “empty promises of food and beverages” and proceeded to attach the wings. For such a big deal, this was a fairly easy process. Everyone told me to freeze the wings bolts (8 per size) with dry ice. I did so, and the bolts went in just fine.

No, I am not hammering on the airplane. The bolts needed some gentle persuasion to move into their holes.
